PageFreezer Partners with Actiance to Release the Latest in Social Media Archiving

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, 16 June 2016 - PageFreezer and Actiance are pleased to announce a new partnership. Together, the two firms will be rolling out innovative technology that captures link shares within social media posts. This new partnership will offer clients more accurate social media archiving, enabling them to effectively prove what was communicated on social media at any given moment in time.

Actiance and PageFreezer together conquer social media compliance through archiving technology that automatically captures webpage links shared within social media posts. This capability comes as a result of, Actiance integrating PageFreezer’s API to capture linked third-party web pages in their Socialite platform.

The transient nature of social media channels, such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, creates unique regulatory compliance risks and added strain on legal and IT departments. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) recently illuminated the fact that linked content in social media posts can be considered an endorsement and is subject to legal implications. Compounding social media compliance challenges is the fact that links to third-party web pages have a limited lifespan and linked webpages change over time. Organizations and individuals who fail to comply with the FTC’s mandates over social channels risk injunctions, fines or other punishments, increasing the demand for a complaint social media archiving solution.

“The reality of today’s business climate is that regulators consider all forms of communication the same way. As more organizations communicate via social media channels, they must be prepared to meet legal mandates for archiving and retention,” says Barry Ruditsky, SVP Business Development, Actiance. “Together, Actiance and PageFreezer address increasingly rigid regulations for social media platforms and ensure customers are prepared to proactively meet any compliance hurdle they may face.”

"The integrated collection of social media and website data is a great innovation and a new domain in the compliance archiving industry that we’re excited to be a part of," says Michael Riedyk, CEO of PageFreezer.

The new feature will be available to all Actiance Socialite customers starting June 2016.
